Making none of your wildest dreams come true.

I’ve been the proud owner of a digital camera for something like nine months now. I really love it, and I’ve taken all sorts of pictures with it. What I’m bad about, though, is actually uploading the pictures onto my computer and then clearing out my memory card so I can start it fresh.

Worse, every time we leave the house I always muse aloud about whether or not I should bring my camera. Whenever I don’t have it, I always see something of which I absolutely must have a picture. Conversely, whenever I DO have it, I always forget to take pictures. I’ll carry the thing around in my hand and talk Robert’s ear off about all the fabulous pictures I can take, but it’s rare for me to actually take any pictures.

What this all comes down to is that there are, in my opinion, some pretty snazzy pictures on my camera. But, because I’m so lousy when it comes to making full use of said camera, those pictures are currently restricted to the confines of the LCD display on the back of the camera.

We were at a friend’s house today and it got all cloudy and started thundering outside. I was sitting there staring out the window, thinking about how I find thunderstorms uniquely relaxing, when it occurred to me that maybe I should whip out my camera and go take some pictures. And by “some” I mean three.

Well, it’s a start. Next on the agenda: tackling Photoshop. My current skill level with that shit is “Prehistoric Cave Man”, so I’ve got a long way to go.

I’m allergic to photoshop and it’s remarkably complex procedures. I don’t know how so many people have weirdo “artsy” facebook profile pictures considering how I wouldn’t normally consider any of them smart enough to figure out how to do it.

Maybe I’m just lashing out since I haven’t figured it all out. I’ll leave that decision up to you.

    Good luck this weekend!

Haha, I was that way for a looong time. I’ve finally started to bring my camera at all the right moments.

I’m okay with Photoshop. I had to use it in one of my classes, but I’m definitely not able to do all the cool stuff.

I use Photoshop Elements, which is fine for what I do. I also just got a brand-new camera.

We should meet up and go somewhere to take photos…

Ben: I originally used a way more complicated program called GIMP. I’m still no better at Photoshop even though it is a tad more functional for my purposes. Mostly I just have no idea what all the little buttons are supposed to be used for.

Andrea: I love all your pictures! And you get them posted in such a timely fashion, too.

Dorid: I’ve got Adobe Photoshop CS, so I guess it’s a pretty powerful and complicated. I’ve seen people do amazing things with Photoshop so I guess I wish I could do the same thing right away, thus ignoring the learning curve.

haha. I love having a digital camera. I keep it in my handbag. I take it EVERYWHERE and take pictures of my friends and just about every night out. I have about 50000 photos of my dog. All on my computer.
I am addicted to taking the worst amateurish pics ever. If one day I leave the house without my camera and there is a photo op, I feel a million regrets!!
I never end up printing any photos or doing the things with them I planned.
They just go on facebook or myspace. What a waste!
